Capture Your Company’s Identity with our Unique Logo Design Process | zo agency

A logo is an identity. It identifies your business, brand, culture and meaning. While your logo may be beautiful, have just the right colors or just the right icon… this is really not as important as that it identifies who and what you are. In fact, perceptions about your logo will deepen in time as people interact with your business and form a character for it (the logo). Sure, your logo can LOOK great too, but it’s most important function is identifying you and what you stand for.

This is why we start our logo design process with a logo questionnaire, so we can really dig into discovering who you are and what you want to express to the world.

Birthing your new identity will be fun, challenging and deliberate! And no matter how you slice it, it’s an invigorating process. We are creative experts with decades of graphic design experience, which we use to create your unique logo that accurately and visually delivers on the promise of your brand. We generally follow a multi-round logo design process.

There are many steps we use to create a logo:

We begin with discovery. We ask a lot of questions, pummeling you (softly) with questionnaires. We want to get under your fingernails and learn about your passions and personality. We will then take what we learned about you and put it into form.

With that, we move into the rounds. We start with black and white renditions so you can see your font and icon options clearly without the distraction of color or variables like verticals versus horizontal views. We take your feedback from each round and turn it into the next fine tuned option! Usually, we go with three rounds. Sometimes folks fall in love with round 1 but it can certainly take more to dial in your dream logo. After we have nailed the logo in black and white, we establish color palettes that you will use forevermore. These are infused into your logo and then into any other works you curate! Your fonts, colors and logo are your newborn identity!

Lastly, after we have your established logo, you will receive your logo files in black and white, color, icon only, icon and font, font only and then horizontal and vertical versions! We’ll provide these as PDF’s, EPS, PNG and JPEG so you have the ultimate arsenal.

So, that’s it; those are the steps we take to create a logo in a nutshell. We’re master craftsmen and can take your vision into execution with our logo design process but it is a collaborative effort where you provide extensive feedback each round you look at!

We offer four different logo packages, ranging from our economical Bronze package to our top-of-the-line Platinum package, all of which are broken down in detail below. If you need a professionally designed logo, talk to us and we can help identify the best package for your needs.

Our logo design techniques and processes can be better understood by looking at the different packages we offer. Here are the various levels of logo creation you can choose from:

Bronze Logo Package

You’ll receive two rounds of logo concepts. You’ll choose your favorite and then we’ll focus our efforts on that one, doing two more rounds to polish it to perfection, applying color. You’ll receive a one-color logo design in both b/w and color, and packaged files for print and digital use.

Silver Logo Package

You’ll receive three rounds of logo concepts. We’ll then focus our efforts on the one you choose and do two more rounds to polish it to perfection and see it in color. Your final logo will be presented in both b/w and as a two-color design. We’ll also provide a pared-down, type-only version of your logo for special uses. We’ll offer a range of logo files for print and digital use.

Gold Logo Package

You’ll receive three rounds of logo concepts which can include custom-drawn art. Then you’ll pick your favorite logo concept and we’ll do two more rounds of tweaking to polish your design and see it pop in color. Once we have your final logo design, we’ll create an alternate logo orientation, so you have both horizontal and vertical designs for greater flexibility. We’ll also provide a type-only logo and your isolated logo icon/art for special uses. Your final logos will be presented in both b/w and as a two-color design. We’ll offer a range of logo files for print and digital use.

We’ll also provide a type-only logo and your isolated logo icon/art for special uses. Your final logos will be presented in b/w, and as a two-color design, accompanied with an extended color palette to inform your print and web design projects. You’ll receive a Logo Usage Guide and a Brand Reference Guide, so you can roll out your new logo with confidence.

As you can see, we are extremely hands-on with our logo design techniques and processes and pride ourselves in providing everything you need to absolutely adore the logo that embodies your brand. You’ll walk away feeling grounded in who you are and understanding exactly what it takes to make a professional logo.
